Anglicare WA’s It Only Takes One is a school-based program that provides students with an understanding of pivotal social issues including Healthy Relationships, Poverty & Inequality, Homelessness, and Wellbeing.

Through in-person presentations, online learning, workshops and educational resources, students are empowered with the knowledge and skills to be changemakers in their communities.

Topics we cover

Healthy Relationships

How to form and maintain healthy friendships and relationships. This program provides knowledge on prevention and early intervention in family violence; promotion of gender equality and respect; identification of controlling or unhealthy behaviours and knowing where to seek further assistance. Online learning is available for years 7-12 and in-person presentations for years 7 & 8.

Well-being

Increasing understanding of mental health and wellbeing, encouraging young people to seek help when they need it and increasing compassion for those experiencing mental health difficulties.

Poverty, Inequality + Homelessness

Strategy-focused program around poverty, housing issues and inequality including deconstructing myths and stereotypes of disadvantage; knowledge of financial vulnerability; ways to use individual privilege to impact societal change; identifying ways to advocate for change. Online learning is available for years 7-12 and

in-person presentations for years 7 & 8.
